Design Challenge

The Problem:  Your school has a terrible time with communication. They send out emails but parents never read them.  20 students showed up last Monday for the teacher work day and the staff had to scramble to figure out what to do. The school needs your help!

Directions:  Working with one or two other students, design an app to help parents and teachers communicate better! You can use multiple pages, icons, messaging, gamification, and more.  For your first iteration, you have 25 minutes before you will present your ideas to the group. Good luck!

Materials and More:  Pencil, paper, and ruler for a low tech option.  Search for the latest dimensions on the internet or download this template.  Notability for the iPad. Photoshop on the computer or iPad (cost varies).  Sketch (cost ~$80) on the computer.  Sarah Parmenter's Mobile App Design for iOS course on Treehouse ($9/student/month; first 2 weeks free).
